I think your idea is really excellent!
As I am from the former GDR, I have got som experiences with monuments
myself, especially in Berlin... Good luck for your project!

Of course!
I think this is the most suitable way for this problem.
Kalevipoeg is a national hero, but knowing deeper meaning and know this
book was made, I find that Kalevipoeg as a statue is only for tourists
and for people, who need to see real existing things.
For Estonians it is already in our mind and we dont need to see it somewhere.
I dont care where it is, is it in the sea or on the ground.
So, do what you want to do and leave for everyone their own opinion, but
Kalevipoeg as a statue is meeningful only as a tourist magnet and just
beautiful art.
And I think in that statue there would be interesting if there wouldnt
be eyes in that statue. So Kalevipoeg doesn’t see, because I think
Estonians as a nation doesn’t see things clearly recently. Things
are crazy, but ofcourse there are other ways out of it. Just Kalevipoeg
without eyes would be perfect!
No eyes!
